How do I uninstall LV6.1 when it asks for original disks which I don't have?

I want to uninstall LV 6.1 in order to have a clean install for 7.1.

Everytime I try to uninstall anything, it asks for the original disks that I don't have (They belonged to my former employer).

msiBlast.exe lists about 20 different pieces that I want to un-install before proceeding.

Ralph H,

Are you uninstalling though the Control Panel, or using MSIBlast.exe?  If it is just through the Control Panel, then try to uninstall LabVIEW using MSIBlast.  I would recommend uninstalling everything you can from the control panel, but if there is anything that won't be uninstalled, then use MSIBlast.  Don't hesitate to post if you have any other questions, or if this doesn't work.  Hope this helps!

Also, if you have the space on the computer, both LabVIEW 6.1 and 7.1 can be installed simultaneously without any issues.  They play nice together (or don't play at all, depending on how you look at it).  However, a fresh installation can also be very beneficial.

I first tried thru the control panel Add/Remove Programs.  No luck.  I then tried using msiblast.exe.  No luck.  I then brought the LV6.1 CD set from my new employer home and was able to de-install most of the items using the control panel.  Then using msiblast.exe, I was able to remove everything else except the MS Report Generation Toolkit.  I finally used the Windows Install Cleanup utililty msicuu.exe to eliminate that resilient toolkit.

After that, I deleted everything on the hard-drive that was left.  Then I went into the registery and deleted the considerable left-overs there.  In my opinion, when I upgraded to the Windows Installer 3.1 (Win XP Pro), I sealed my fate in trying to un-install LV6.1.

Now however, I have a perfectly clean LV7.1 install and am looking forward to learning the new features.  Thanks!
