How do I update HMI OS?

I have a TPC-2012 with Window CE 5. I'd like to install Windows XP Embedded on it. Does anyone know if it's possible? How can I do this? Thanks in advance.

My regards,

Vinicius

This is the data for your NI TPC-2012

Memory............................................... 256 MB DDR SDRAM

Storage................................................ 128 MB CompactFlash

I/O ports

10/100BaseT Ethernet.................... 1

Hi-Speed USB ................................. 2

RS232.............................................. 3

RS485.............................................. 1

PS/2 keyboard/mouse .................... 1

OS .................................................... Windows CE.NET 5.0

This is the data for the NI TPC-2512

Processor............................................. 500 MHz GX3 LX800

Memory............................................... 512 MB DDR SDRAM

Storage................................................ 4 GB CompactFlash

I/O ports

10/100BASE-T Ethernet.................. 1

Hi-Speed USB ................................. 2

RS232.............................................. 3

RS485.............................................. 1

PS/2 keyboard/mouse .................... 1

OS .................................................... Windows XP Embedded

You can not install XP unless you insert more SDRAM and a new and bigger flash drive. I do not know if the 2012 support 4 GB flash drive. Perhaps it is doable, But it will take some time and money. Perhaps you should buy a new 2512. Given the time it will take and the investment, I guess you will be better of with a new HMI. But if you feel for it, just do it 😉

Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted

Hi t06afre. Thanks for your answer. I'll think about an alternative. I'll post an answer about this.

My regards,

Vinicius
