How do i do save multi channel AI/AO in a single TDM File

How do I log data from 4 input channels of PCI 6251 in a single TDM File? I wish to change the header for the file accordingly to indicate which column of data corresponds to what channel?

More over I wish to log these data at specific intervals only. I wish to save all the data read by PCI 6251 and then take a mean of those values and log only the mean values in a single TDM File. How do i do it?

Is there any other method to log these data in xcel format besides using TDM. How effective is LVM format for reading data in Excel?

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I will suggest you take a look at some of the shipping examples for tdm especially the "Write Channel Groups.vi".  The LVM is a tab-delimited text file format that you can open with Excel spreadsheet application or text-editing application.

You can also use the low-level "write to text file" vi to log your data in ASCII format. Note that tdm file format stores data as binary and can only be viewed with LabVIEW and other National Instruments software.
