Of course. The only risk of a version 12 is that fewer people will have LV 2012 to be able to open it. The farther back you go when you do the Save For Previous version, the more people capable of opening it. (Of course going too far back might mean it saves without any newer features you might have used.) Either way, creating a Zip file is still an unneeded step if you are only dealing with one VI file.
