How does the 8451 Atmel EEPROM read/write example VI work? I don't see any for/while loops. How does the address counter gets incremented? What part in the block diagram accomplishes this? I need help in developing a VI to read a device's registers. The protocol is: 1) write to the device (over MOSI) with one byte in which the MSB is 0 to indicate this is a Read instruction. The rest of the 7 bits is the location to read from. This is accompanied by 8 SCLKs 2) the next 8 SCLKs clock 8 dummy bits to the slave device (over MOSI); at the same time these 8 SCLKs clock one byte of data out from the slave device (over MISO) to the USB-8451 3) increment the address counter to read the next location I am hoping I can use the Atmel read/write examples VI (either the basic or the advance examples) as starting point.
