How to Control the WATLOW 922 series PID Controller using Labview?

Hello All,
I m using Labview to control WATLOW 922 series
PID controller using Labview. Have been successful in
establishing a communication thru the RS232 port.
Now got to make temperature variations(increas/decrease) in steps.It should measure the temperature and graph it.


Can anybody please help me out in this case.
I am new to Labview.

Hello Vikram,

It seems that all the PID programming is being done on the Watlow 922 itself. If this is the case, you will have to look in the 922 manual to see what cammands you need to send it to step up the temperature. This would be easier if you had a LabVIEW instrument driver for the 922, but I wasn't able to find one on the web. A LabVIEW instrument driver is just a series of VIs with the accepted command strings for basic operations of an instrument programmed in them. You might put a request on the forums to see if somebody else has already built one. Otherwise, you can build one yourself.

If you are having any trouble specifically with programming something in LabVIEW, let us know.
