Hi Karthikeyan,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments! If you simply want to extract an area from a source image try using Image Mask. In Vision Assistant in the top menu bar, select Image >> Image Mask. You have the option of masking the Image from a file or by creating your own ROI (region of interest). If you choose "Create from Image File" option the mask will be the same size of the file image, else you can define the ROI to be any size and any shape (there are preset tools for rectangle, circular, annulus, polygon or free hand shapes).

You also have the option to mask the pixel inside or outside of the ROI.

Either way, if you would like to extract that area from the image be sure to place a check in the Extract Masked Region box.

Does this help?

Dear Michele.

I am user a Vision Builder 3.6

We have a aplication with the Analog Measure Instrument, where we need to uso the function "Image Mask" inside "Vision Assitant"

This function we will use to extract the dial scale to inspect only a "Hand" of instrument by measuring teh angle of this part.

Whats the correctly sequence for the complete process use a Image Mask?

Please, analyse this proposal sequence:

[Image Mask (create from ROI / Set ROI/ Inside the ROI)]----[Image Buffer 1]----[Open Image]----[Image Buffer 2 (with the image different angular position about hand]---

---[Operators / SubstractImage]----[Lookup Table]

I imagined this logical for correct for the sequence, but this logical not improve result expected.

I wait for your answer.

Thanks a lot.

Marconi
