How to access NI camera without labview, but with similar to PvAPI?

We have NI 1744 camera and we would like to acquire images from it without labview. Does NI have some kind of SDK to do it, like Allied PvAPI? We don't need to machine vision algorithsm, all we need is to get a picture from it.

Hello,

The 1744 is a smart camera. This means it is running a Real-Time OS. Applications are deployed to it which run stand alone. This application then may publish the pictures on the network.

Therefore, the short answer is unfortunately no. There is no simple API to access the 1744 camera. The 1744 would have come with VBAI which could be used to capture images from it which would bypass LabVIEW.
