How to change the default linux file permissions in files saved by LabVIEW?

Hi,

My LabVIEW data files are saved with only write permission, not read. How can I change this default? This is in linux.

Many thanks,
Bill

Hi, Bill.

Wikipedia has a nice entry on this as well: chmod entry.

Hi,

Thanks. How can I make everything saved by labview have the right permissions for users? I don't want to have to use chmod every time, but labview always saves the files with read permission *only* for root, not for me as a user.

Thanks again!

Hello Bill,

Have you looked at the Set Permissions VI?  It says in the help file that it sets permissions similar to Linux.  What kind of data file are you trying to use?  Is it .lvm? tdm? tdms?

Thanks!
