How to configure multiple base nodes using Configuration Editor Framework?

Hi all, 
I am trying to implement a moderately complex configuration, which has the following design. 

Here Channel and DUT nodes need to have multiple instances. In the Edit options of my Channel node I enabled the duplicate node as true but when I try to duplicate it I get errors. 

Error 1556 occurred at In Place Element Structure in NISE_CEF_Node.lvclass:LinkNodes.vi->NISE_CEF_TreeControl.lvlib:DuplicateNode.vi:2730001->Configuration Tool.lvlib:Configuration Tool Main.vi
Any suggestions on how to implement this.
