Solved!

So far you attacked this guy's choice of spectrometer and been condescending to him and altenbach.

If you have nothing constructive to add to the thread, don't post it.

condescending - https://www.google.com/search?q=condescending&rlz=1C1CHBF_enES863ES863&oq=condescending&aqs=chrome.....

This word can be an offensive, insulting word. Let see for what you try to insult / offend me.

Let's make a time analysis for what we speak here...

First off all, I see this subject and I think that I can help for free a somebody with my experience with spectrometers.

 RMMG22 say:

"Hi,

I would like to be able to make a program that shows the signal measured by a spectrometer. But I don't know which are the blocks I need to be able to use the connection via USB. I´ve already downloaded the drivers for Thorlabs on Labview.

Thanks"

I see that no details about spectrometer, no detail about desire spectrum, nothing. Without details nobody can help him ! Or... can ?!

Yes you... genius can help them... without  knowledge of any detail, of spectrometers... of noting... but... you are a genius... you can !!!

I'm not genius... I can't help it until give us some details about spectrometer, spectrum... etc.

AeroSoul

"

1. read THORLABS spectrometer user manual (to see how packets are formed and what data you can expect)

2. if you've already downloaded THORLABS support for Labview, then check some of their examples on how it's done

3. you can also use Labview VISA (plenty of examples how that works) with settings you got from user manual

"

1- Time consuming process, and if there... are not packets ?! And if there... are not data that can be expected ?! And if there... are a simple USB CCD camera output ?!

2- Time consuming, unnecessary step at this moment.

3- Time consuming, inutil / complicated suggested step at this moment !

My conclusion at this moment... was that guy (you)... have nothing to do with this subject ! I pass away about your stupid suggestions and not say anything about your post.

After that... without details... I suggest a software that easy, quick and free (no money) can identify if there is an CCD camera sensor output.

Genius... seems that you have ... time and money, I don't have NOR time NOR money ! But... I know the... KISS principle, seems that you don't know it !

Genius... KISS, an acronym for Keep It Simple, Stupid ! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KISS_principle

I think that what I suggest at this moment respect the KISS principle.

After that... LV_Pro write his opinion, an objective opinion about necessity of this guy.

After that...I write mi opinion referent to LV_Pro opinion an referent to what I think about his spectrometer without knowing at this moment any details, only from my experience.

After that, the guy... came an put "I need to use a spectrometer Thorlabs model ccs200. Spectrum of the sun"

When he put this... I see an... incoherence, Thorlabs model ccs200 IT CAN'T SEE / MEASURE THE SPECTRUM OF THE SUN !!!

After that,  with all respect, I documented inform him about the incoherence that I see on his last post and suggest that is need to know what he need because if need entire solar spectrum... this spectrometer can't do this expectations an if the guy it buy it... it is possible to have time to return the product and refund the money !

After that... Kyle97330... show one time more the complicated way... well... al is ok... the guy can choose from this two ways, I not intent to impose KISS to nobody, It's a free world !

After that... I signaling to this guy that there exist a huge possibility to be a CCD camera on USB an can be easy to connect with LabView and I tell him how to connect.

After that... Casually I see on ThorLabs page (BTW... I'm ThorLab, Edmund Optics, Newport Optics client, I buy from them many LongPass filters, gold plated mirrors, gratings etc, I'm sure that you are client of them... and you know... what are you saying... :))  ) the price and I signaling to this guy. In the same time I see... the Start / Stop buttons... about that... I have an colocvial / ungilt and pleasant conversation with altenbach here... https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/LabView-bug/m-p/4146391#M1195758

Lets... conclude...

So far... I make this:

First off all, I see this subject and I think that I can help for free a somebody with my experience with spectrometers.

I see that no details about spectrometer, no detail about desire spectrum, nothing. Without details nobody can help him ! Or... can ?!

After that... I signaling to this guy that there exist a huge possibility to be a CCD camera on USB an can be easy to connect with LabView and I tell him how to connect.

After that... last paragraph...

Conclusion - nothing constructive !!!

So far... You make this...

Conclusion - all that you post here... was... extremely constructive !!!

My conclusion at this moment... was that guy (you)... have nothing to do with this subject ! I pass away about your stupid suggestions and not say anything about your post.

After that... you try to insult my supraunitari intelligence with your SUBUNITARI INTELIGENCE, and put you in... this guy reprezentant and altenbach avocate (I hope that no-one ask you for this service).

"Think young... it's your only... hope..." did you know... that ?!

Q.E.D. - quod erat demonstrandum

I ask you for apologize me for this speech / dissertation, if moderators will see that I was out of subject, please remove this, for I don't know what reason... AeroSoul try to insult me, try to represent at altenbach and RMMG22 in this insulting / ofensive "condescendent" word.

Why was Altenbach addressed in that message when he has not commented in this thread at all?

I have with altenbach a pleasant conversation about Start / Stop buttons philosophy... Casual on the ThorLabs page apeare Start / Stop buttons. Was a little joke with altenback in replay of his joke with buttons from the upside link. Nothing more.

If you can't figure it out with the examples and manual, your best bet is to get into contact with Thorlabs. They have a a very particular way of programming LabVIEW that is not particularly intuitive. At least for OCT applications they pass around OOP objects that hold pointers to objects in a DLL memory space. This is definitely not the normal way to do things in LabVIEW. Despite what I think of their LabVIEW interface, their customer service is really top notch and they can help you way more than anybody here.
