How to measure ambient light Sensor functionality??

Hello,

I want to measure the Ambient light sensor functionality ??

In my device Ambient light is there and I am asking to measure the functionality of that light for example if other lights intensity is more then what is reaction of Ambient sensor and vice versa....

Can you please tell me from where I should start, means I don't have any idea about this..I need to download any driver in-order to measure the functionality of ambient light...

i read some thing about driver from this sit::::        https://www.ni.com/docs/en-US/bundle/labview-robotics-module/page/lvrobovi/robo_light_pal.html

but i am not able to download it.

Please guide me ..Even I am also confused from where to start.....

Thank you very much...

Do you have the LabVIEW Robotics Module?  You need this module to get the driver.

You can download an evaluation copy of the module here:  http://www.ni.com/labview/robotics/

If you don't have the robotics module this driver will not help you.

What are using for a light sensor? Is it anaolg or digital? What type of DAQ are you using?

Thank you for reply..

Even I don't have much idea about this...

I have to study in detailed and let you know...

Its type of photo diode...which measure the intensity of light..we have to mount this device on the tope of wind meals..And I have to design vi for that in order to have all the data which was  mentioned above...

Thanks again..

Hello,

my ambient light is type of photo sensor and its implemented in our main device and i am dealing with modus in order to communicate with it.

I have downloaded the Robotics Module driver. Now  guide please me that what I have to do next..

Port address on modulus is 37.

I have to measure the light sensitivity , in day time its seem some value and if we make dark around it then value will change according to darkness...

Full light then maximum value and no light then 0 value.

Thank you very much .

Of course you will only be able to download the lates version of that module from that site.

Contact your local NI sales office, they can help you get the right version for 2010.

But you need to give us some more details about your project.

What is the hardware you are using?

The sensors name?

What connection does it have?

What kind of output does it give?

How do you interface the hardware to the PC? with a CompactDAQ ?

If CompactDAQ, what DAQ module are you using ?

The link you have found is regarding the Lego Mindstorms. Is it a Lego Mindstorm you have ?

And if you have a valid SSP you can get the Robotics Module 2010 here:
