Hi
I am fairly familiar with LV and I wanting to build a simulator to work out the closest point of approach (CPA) which is derived from two echoes on a radar system.
I wish for the parameters to be input manually on the FP and then a plot be created acting on this data. I have attached the manual plot procedure which works out the CPA on paper which you would normally carriy out at sea.
The problem is I’m not sure where to start as I have not used the plot / chart functions in anger before and even then I believe they use x,y coordinates where as I want to enter range and bearing, how would one go about converting this?
Any help and code snippets would be appreciated
Regards
Ollie

Hi Ollie,
I think that you would be able to use the Radar Plot Indicator for what you are aiming to do, by replacing the values you have with ones for bearings and distances (pythagorus etc). The radar plot is found in Modern>> Graph>> Controls in the functions palette.
Please feel free to post up any further information that you think may be useful.
I hope that this helps.
