  1. Close all your VIs
  2. Open the new VI
  3. Rename it with the old name
  4. Open all your VIs using the VI to be changed

At this level, your VIs have the new VI but with the old name

  1. "Save as" the name of the new VI with the new name
  2. Close the new VI
  3. Close all the other VIs and save them

Respect exactly this procedure in the described order
