How to set and get the mute status of a sound card in Win 7?

Dear all,

I need a VI that I can send a Boolean true to mute and/or send a Boolean false to unmute the master volume of a USB sound card. In addition, I also need a VI to read the mute status of master volume of a USB sound card. These two VI need to be run in Win7-64bit OS. 

 

I have tried to use winmm.dll to carry out my requirements, but only the mute status of my VI can be controled. Please refer to the snapshot listed below.

I would really appreciate if someone can help me to solve my question because I am running out of ideas.
