I tried changing the INI file with little effect (unless it helped lv4 -- see below)
I have the "VI Conversion Package", p/n 500950B-00, but will try to obtain the "LabVIEW VI Conversion Kit" (part number 776874-03).
Finally I was able open the version 4 conversion program and open my version 3 setup vi. From there I could open it with version 6.1. I got 4 NI-DAQ errors half of which went away when told to look for nidaq32.dll instead of nidaq.dll.
So I guess I'm mostly converted.
