How to use Session Manager with NI-DCPower

Hi,

I'm little confuse about using NI-DCPower and Session Manager.vi.

I was hoping to have Driver Sessions and Logical Names configured in MAX for IVI based NI-DCPower device (PXIe-4113). I wanted to use Logical Name with Session Manager.vi to let this manager manage resource - I wanted it to work similar to DAQmx and Tasks created in MAX.

Is it possible to use it this way? Or maybe this driver cannot work together with Session Manager because its not IVI-C ? I'm totally confused.

Below you can see an example. I have installed NI-DCPower. This also installs items in IVI Drivers in MAX. I created logical name "MIBN" and linked it with default niDCPower Driver Session (see MAX screen). Then in LV I tried to access this session: Session Manager works ok but then conversion returns invalid session (see probe).

So, how to use DCPower with Session Manager.

BTW It seems that Session Manager makes LV crash on VM 😕 Is it only on my machine or someone can confirm it on his own machine?

Is it possible that this is not working because NI-DCPower is IVI.NET (is it?) and Session Manager is not supporting it (but it's not mentioned in help)?

How can I find out what kind of IVI driver it is?

I think this question should be moved to NI TestStand section (or Instrument Control).
