How to use a chopper to obtain data quasi simultaneously?

Hello,

Iam very much new to labVIEW. Iam using a dual cavity setup for some aerosol measurements. But i have only one detector ,ie a Thorlabs spectrometer. So I have decided to use a chopper externally so that I can acquire data  alternatively from both the cavities and i can save it to different files. I have got an example vi from thorlabs which gives a spectrum. So anyone kindly help me how to start with this program as iam a beginner to labview.

This can't be the original Thorlabs example. It looks like it has been modified. Do you have the original?

Oh Thank You for your reply. Here is the original labview lib for thorlabs spectrometer.

Thanks. That's a little better.

- What have you tried so far?

- Have you successfully connected to the spectrometer to get measurements at all?

- What is a chopper and do you plan to control it using LabVIEW?

Yes, I could connect the spectrometer and I could take the measurements for one cavity. I need to set up a dual cavity and I have only one spectrometer as detector. So according to the frequency of the chopper used I need to acquire data from both the cavity quasi simultaneously. Chopper wheel will allow to pass light from the laser alternatively through the cavity. Iam attaching the pic of the chopper that iam using.
