How to use virtual device ID with sound function?

We use N computing devices which allow us to acess one desktop by many users. We came across a problem while  recording sound through these  N

Computing devices because sound function gives an error of invalid device iD. Please suggest a solution.

Can you elaborate. Perhaps post your code or part of it to show the problem

My problem is with the virtual device ID because on a standalone computer this vi doesnt give an error message. Problem is with its use on N

Are you using this program on PDA or standard windows PC

Have you solved your problem? Go to help in the toolbar. Then select Find examples. Do a serch for sound and loacate the "Sound Input to File.vi" example. That should give you a push in the correct direction
