I find examples as the best way to kick off your labview career. The shortest possible way is something like this.
1) go and check basic tutorials on labview.
2) once you feel you have made your teeth and are comfortable with labview environment its time to start developing
3) Check Examples.
4) Do assignments, give yourself assignments
e.g Make a function generator
Make an AM FM Modulator
Prove Central Limit theorem
Addition of Noise and Filteration
5) This will give you basic experience on labview. Then labview is a very vast language. Though Stalwarts like Ben and Dennis Knutson who regularly post on this forum have come to a level where they can solve just about any problem of any field. Yet i feel comfortable skewing to my field of interest and trying to gather knowledge relevant only to that field as much as possible.
Best of luck. Do these assignments on your own. Take help of all tools available. You'll feel much more comfortable once you've done some real work youself.
