Hi, I am an extremely new user to LabVIEW, and I am currently trying to wire in an Omega PX4200 4-20mA pressure transducer into an NI USB-6009 Data Acquisition Device. I have the power sources as a SOLA SDN 5-24-100P, and I am using a 3-wire system. I have the Black wire going to the SOLA on a +, the ground wire going into the GND on the NI USB-6009, and the white wire going to the AI0. Currently, I am unable to generate a meaningful signal either in the measurement and automation explorer or LABVIEW Signal Express 2010. If anyone has any idea on what I am doing wrong, please reply to this thread. Thanks, Dev

The USB 6009 measures voltage. The pressure transducer puts out a current signal. You need to add some kind of signal conditioning. At the minimum, you need to use a resistor across the terminals so that you can convert the 4-20 mA signal the transducer puts out to a voltage. To convert a 20mA signal to 10V, you'd need a 500 ohm resistor.

Great. That's good to hear.

I don't know of any pressure sensors that I would recommend over the Omega ones. I've used several, both 2-wire and 3-wire kinds, and I've been happy with them.
