I can not open a saved llb

Hi
When I was saving my work the other day the computer hanged.(Win2K) using a USB memory.
Now when I'm trying to open the llb I get an error message saying the Labview can not list directory contents.
Is there a tool to recover damaged llb's?

The size of the file looks ok.

If you don't have a copy somewhere, you're probably out of luck unless NI has some magic tool to fix the problem. I get the same error you list when trying to open it.

You've unfortunately learned a lesson the hard way. You should always work from the hard drive, and use portable media to copy files from one place to another.

Good luck, and let us know if NI has a solution.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

I just wanted to add one thing to Ed's response. You should not save your development VIs to llbs. Originally, the llb provided a means os creating and saving a VI with long names when the OS didn't permit this. That no longer pertains and as you found out, a corrupt llb makes all your VIs unreadable. Better to have to rewrite a single VI. Keep individual VIs in folders and just use the llb for distribution.

You got a point there, thanks...

I recently faced the same problem.
There is a (partial) solution : I don't have it but NI support does.

Ask NI for some support and they will fix your llb.
They could not retreive the whole llb but at least 80%.

I also decided not to use llb anymore.
