You will need to install DAQmx -- DAQmx is the hardware driver which will install both the DAQ Assistant and the DAQmx API into LabVIEW.

Did you try a search? You need v9.1.5 minimum to support LabVIEW 2010: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/F4E76EC05118F72D8625773000672298

After installing LabView 2010 with NI-DCD 201 in my PXIe 8102; I do not have DAQ Assistant.vi. However if I installed LabView 2010 with NI-DCD 2010 in my PC, it worked. Why?

Hi Youzhang He,

Did you install LabVIEW first on your PXIe 8102 before the drivers?  Most likely, you're missing LabVIEW support for your DAQmx drivers. Fortunately, this is an easy fix. What you should do is open Add/Remove Programs, select National Instruments Software, select Uninstall/Repair. In the window that pops up listing NI software, select NI-DAQmx 9.x and select Modify. In the window that appears, expand Application Development Support and select to install LabVIEW support.  From here complete the install process and restart your system.  LabVIEW support should be installed and DAQ Assistant should appear in your palette.

Hi,

I have the same issue, so that I am not seeing the DAQ asissstant. I tried following the proposed solution, but by trying to modify the DAQ 9.x, a path with stored data is needed. I inserted the physical DVDs of the LabVIEW installation (also the driver and devices DVD) and it shows me that this is not the right one.

How else could I modify the system to get the DAQ assistant? Does anybody has an idea?

Thanks for the help

Cheers,

hoef

You're working with LabVIEW 2010?  If not, open a new thread to deal with your different issue.  If you do have 2010, go download DAQmx 9.9 and install it after you have 2010 installed.  Ensure you include the option for 2010 support.
