Hello. guys

I have a problem with Ni_Excel. Ni_Excel.lvclass in Dependencies is locked.

They're asking for a password. Do you know how to solve this problem?

Here are some questions:

  • What version of LabVIEW are you running?
  • What "edition" (Home, Student, Base, Full, Professional)?
  • Do you have the Report Generation Toolkit installed?
  • Can you please attach a code sample (meaning a VI that we can run) that shows this problem?

Thanks, Bob

  • What version of LabVIEW are you running? -> I'm using  2018 sp1 version
  • What "edition" (Home, Student, Base, Full, Professional)? -> LabVIEW Evaluation Version
  • Do you have the Report Generation Toolkit installed? -> Yes! I downloaded 2018RGT.ZIP file and installed
  • Can you please attach a code sample (meaning a VI that we can run) that shows this problem? Sorry, because it is my business. I used NI_Excel to make reports.

       - I downloaded LabView about 2 weeks ago. So, Can I use all the functions for free for 60 days?

Hi adavb,

I have a problem with Ni_Excel. Ni_Excel.lvclass in Dependencies is locked.

They're asking for a password. Do you know how to solve this problem?

This VI is from a toolkit created by NI. Many of their VIs from such toolkits are locked - mostly for a good reason.

THe answer simply is: you cannot open their block diagram…

This leads to the question: why is it a problem for you when that VI is locked?

Best regards,
GerdW

Thanks, GerdW

This leads to the question: why is it a problem for you when that VI is locked?

> I failed to build my project. The error message is "This build specification uses VIs from Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office which is currently in evaluation mode. During evaluation, LabVIEW is unable to disconnect type definitions and remove unused polymorphic VI instances.

Choose a different option on the Additional Exclusions page and build the application again.

To purchase this product, please contact National Instruments. If you have already purchased this product, select Help >> Activate LabVIEW Components to activate this product.

C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2018\vi.lib\addons\_office\_exclsub.llb\Excel_Set_Orientation.vi"

So I thought that Being locked is the reason for failure. because I couldn't read it in my project,

Can I use it even if it's locked?

Is it because my rap view is Evaluation mode? Do I have to buy professional mode?

Thank you very much for trying to solve my problem.

Hi adavb, when you want to build executables with this toolkit then you need a licensed LabVIEW installation. As the error message says...
