I loose the ability to build new targets using Labview 8.5

I have LabVIEW 8.5 Professional Dev System. Occassionally, I will loose the ability to build new targets and have to re-install the Development environment. When I right-click on
"Build Specifications"  and select  "New" "Application(exe)", I get an hour glass for a few seconds and then nothing happens.

That's a strange one.

Are you activating your installation?

Hi mrrick,

Does the capability to create executables disappear when you try to use the same project each time or different ones?

How many executables are you able to build before the functionality disappears?  ....or how many days later does it disappear?

Under the NI License Manager, does your activated version of LabVIEW say "Includes Application Builder" in the Description field?  (Start » Programs » National Instruments » NI License Manager » [click on your activated version of LabVIEW in the tree on the left side] » [look at the Description field in the center pane])

Just a note - try repairing LabVIEW next time this happens instead of completely reinstalling.  (Control Panel » Add/Remove Program » National Instruments Software » Change/Remove » [select your LabVIEW version] » Repair)

Thanks Kevin_S for responding,
Reading from the NI License Manager:
I have LabVIEW version 8.5.1: Professional Development System with MathScript; License file never expires; Includes Application Builder and MathScript.

If this happens again, I will take your suggestion and attempt to repair the installation.
