I'm building applications that use opc calls, do i need to instal datasocket software also?

I am programming a data aqusition system that uses PLC modules. I am accessing them using OPC calls. WHen I build the application and install on a new machine i cannot connect. DO i need to install the datasocket software on this machine also? The software i am calling is called DSDATA. The URL i am calling is OPC://localhost/dsdata OPC Server/[Fracvan]V3000. Built application machine will not connect even though DSdata server is installed??? What is going on here?

If you have completely installed the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine, then the DataSocket components would have been installed with this. That is, unless you are using this machine as a DataSocket Server. In that case, you need to install the DSServer software.
