I need to plot dates on the X axis and numeric values on the y axis

I have an Excel spreadsheet with the 1st column being a part number, the next column being a date ie.. 06/30/2004, and the third column being a numeric vale. I need to parse the values for the date and numeric value using the part number, for a graph or chart.
How do I convert the date values on the X axis so they will display properly?

Well I played around with your code two parts where missing but I think this might work.

Thanks I used some of the code that was in the vi and modified it to work in my vi.
