I upgraded to LabView 7 for Macintosh, but I've found it does not really support Express VI's.

Has anyone else been frustrated by this issue? Advertising seems a bit misleading to me.

I am intrigued by your problem since I did open some Express VIs on OS 9.2 providing you boot up in 9.2 rather than use the compatability mode.

Express on OS X looks like an embarrassment and a complete botch up. NI expects users to throw away their DAQ cards in favor of lower capacity Real Time Cards and the Real Time module.

Yes, there appear to be a few Express VIs that work on 9.2, but the none of the DAC I/O (AI Read, AI Write) Express VIs work as advertised for PC compatibles. I saw too that one needs the Real Time Module for Mac OS X and I agree with your assessment. It appears to me that NI is heading towards reduced support for Mac rather than, as their statement on the /Mac link claims, a committment to continued support of Macintosh data acquisition. Does this translate to mean only for legacy Mac systems? I'd really like to hear some feedback from an NI rep about these issues.

It looks like the only way to get answers is that a lot of people have to ask questions.

This link is what I used to contact someone. It is quite easy to figure out the NI protocol of nickname, initial or first name.last name @ ni.com

Several weeks ago the Mac group in marketing was suppose to get back to me regarding this. They never have so I can guess that there is no longer a core group who wants to advance LV on the Macintosh.

Raymond
