 I want to check if the encoder works with myrio and motor adapter for myrio.

Currently, the number of counter value changes, It keeps going down and the direction and A,B switches do not work properly.

Is there a problem with my connection method?

Or do I need to connect external power source?

I think the code is fine because I used the code known as an example.
Signal A and signal B, Encoder GND and Encoder power cables are connected.

what happens when you attach an external power supply, as already suggested here?

Does your encoder run with a 5V power supply?
