Unfortunately, NI-IMAQ for USB cameras is not an officially supported driver. Our officially supported camera bus architectures are Analog, Cameralink, IEEE 1394, and GigE Vision. Each architecture has an associated specification that is widely adopted in the machine vision industry, whereas USB does not. I can attempt to assist you further by searching for some more information on our internal database, but will need more information about your hardware and how you are using the various grab vi’s. Have you been able to acquire images through other means, namely Measurement and Automation Explorer or another Windows application? Also, is your device “DirectShow” compliant? As mentioned earlier, the USB architecture is not officially supported.

Let me know if this articles help or if you have some more information about your system.

I have a Logitech QuickCam Conmmunicate STX. a logitech help forum says it is directshow compliant. For now i am just trying to use the labview USB grab vi examples that came with the documentation from the labview website. So far no luck with them. The camera works with NI Vision Assistant 8.6. I will take a look at those links and let you know. Thanks for your help.
