IMAQ diplay range

Can I control the color range that the IMAQ Diaplays?

It seems to always autoscale.  If I have an image that has a pixel range of 0 to 12000 then it shows 12000 as dark red when the rainbow palette is selected. If the image changes so the range is now 0 to 32000 it show 32000 as dark red.  I need a consistant palette legend.  I've tried setting the palette mins and maxs with the 16-bit display mapping property but it still auto scales.

I would like to be able to set the legend scaling the same way the intensity plot does.

It sounds like it is using an 8-bit palette for the display instead of 16-bit one. This KnowledgeBase discusses this issue and this one discusses how to create a custom look-up-table to be used with the WindDraw function.

It looks like the IMAQ Image Display can only use 8-bit palettes (see this post).

Most of the links are dead. Nice Spring cleanup, NI.

If you ever find KBs with any issues, scroll to the bottom where you can enter feedback and put a #, pick one of the options and tell us what's wrong about it (I marked this one with #style dead links for example). AEs are in charge of our KBs and doing this puts it at the top of our list of stuff to fix. There are a lot of KBs so figuring out which ones need to be fixed is difficult.

The help at the end of the list is internal but I wouldn't worry about it. Worst case scenario is you mark something to be deleted and somebody sits there for a few minutes trying to figure out why before going through the normal list of things to look for.
