IMAQ for USB cameras error -1074396024 system error

Hi,

I used a IMAQ for usb cameras.vi. It works well in my laptop which is a newer one. Well, when I changed to an old one computer and ran it, the error shows that system error, i.e. -1074396024. Could you tell me what it means and how to fix it?

Thanks.

What is the version of vision driver you are using?

NI Adds USB Camera Support with 2009 Software

If you are not using Vision Acquisition Software 2009, then you would need the NI-IMAQ for USB Cameras which is a free software driver for acquiring images from any DirectShow imaging device into LabVIEW. If your USB TV Adapter is not DirectShow compliant, then the NI-IMAQ for USB driver will probably not be able to acquire images using it.

Thanks for your reply. What I am using now is vision acquisition 2009. I do not know if the device I am using is directshow imaging device. I am using the Dazzle DVC 170 card to connnect my camcorders with computer. How to tell it is directshow or not? I called Pinnacle company but the support does not know about this.

Thanks.

Hello,

If you are trying to use the same VI as you used before, it is now using IMAQdx instead of the IMAQ for USB driver. Does your camera show up in Measurement and Automation Explorer? If so, can you acquire images there?

In MAX, USB camera does not show there. Is there any method to configure this? Right now I am not sure the Dazzle card I am using is Directshow image device. That is the problem. Based on the error number, can you tell what the problem is? Possible reasons are in file, pls see the attached file.

So Dazzle DVC 170 is a USB device that connects your camcorder to your PC. IMAQdx or IMAQ for USB provides direct support for USB camera, but not a USB video converter such as Dazzle DVC 170.

You are not using IMAQdx in Vision Acuiquistion 2009.

You are using the IMAQ for USB Cameras drivers.

I think you can find it imaqUSB.llb

I suggest you move it to IMAQdx since its alot faster and its built by NI.

Check out this link.

or you can use MAX or Vision Acquisition to help you out.

Hi,

I tried to use MAX to configure the Dazzle card, see the attached file. It says that it does not have any video mode which is supported. Our camcorder has the analog signal output. Is it due to the camcorder problem or this Dazzle USB converter problem? Thanks.

In addition, I am wondering if this IMAQdx can configure this camcorder from the error.

did you install the driver that came with the camera on your computer?

so imaq_usb work for that camera?

Hi,

There is no driver for camcorder. I am planning to connect the camcorder with DV by using S video-A/V cable and connect DV to PC with DV output (1394) cable. Can it work with NI-IMAQ module? Thanks.
