IS PID Included with Standard LabView 2017

Hello,

I wanted to use one of the PID VI's to control output voltage and current and the VI's seem to have disappeared from the palette. I recently installed this version of LabView (2017 sp1) and I am wondering if the control and simulation palette is now an add-on. I had seen them in the palette right after I first installed labview on this computer but now it seems to have disappeared. Any ideas?

This link to the PID VIs tells me it requires only the Full Development environment.

On the other hand, this link to Using the LabVIEW PID Control Toolkit with the LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module suggests otherwise...

Perhaps the Full licence includes the toolkit, but you still have to tick the box during installation?

I Still don't have a firm answer but it looks like I only have LabVIEW Base and would need the full or professional version for access to those VI's. On the bright side, I got to spend the afternoon making my own PID control 🙂

Why don't you go just to NI's website to compare those LabVIEW "flavours":

(Even though I got the German website I guess you will get the picture.)

Your NI LicenseManager will tell you which flavour is activated on your computer…
