The blue animated gif is a decoration added to the front panel. That is why it moves even before runtime is initiated. It is this gif which I want to use as an indicator in the image box. Did the blue background show up as well in the vi I posted earlier? I expect it does in the zipped version but I thought that the vi alone would appear without the blue background and gif.
In the zipped version, I did not attempt to use a gif in the image selection. Instead, I redid the control to use a png and a jpeg. Not as pretty and not the goal but it allowed the program to execute correctly.
I wonder if I could use a web browser control instead of an image control to display both png and gif files.
