Imaq Cannot Write to file

Labview V8.0
Windows 2000 Pro

I created the attached VI and everything has been working fine until now. All of a sudden I get the following error code when the program attempts to write an image from the write image vi.

Error -1074395988 occurred at IMAQ WriteJPEGFile
  Unable to write data.
Possible reason(s):
IMAQ Vision:  (Hex 0xBFF604AC) Unable to write data.

I've made a few changes to the vi but can't seem to pinpoint the error. Any help out there? Thanks

I determined that the problem comes from the build path vi where I try to add a .jpg extension to the file that is being written. If I add the .jpg everything works except there is no extension on the file so windows does not know how to open the file. Any suggestions?

When I add the .jpg extention, it saves the file as a jpeg and Windows knows which file type it is.  If I don't use the extention, Windows does not know which program to use with it.  Your last message was a little confusing.  Did you mean if you don't add the extention it works fine (except Windows doesn't know which program to use)?  There is no reason why adding the extention should cause the problem.  I created a VI and ran it under both scenarios and they both created the files fine.  Perhaps you could attach your VI and let me see if notice the problem with your VI.

Hello,

I downloaded the VI (kamera_0.4-me.vi) and ran it on my computer. It runs just fine. The only change I made was input a path corresponding to my computer.

You can try making the following changes:

1. Have the file name start with a letter and not a number (eg. Test11282007.jpg)
2. The Format Into String.vi currently inserts a space between the 3 strings that it appends. Wire in a string constant %s%s%s to the format string input to eliminate this.

Refer to this discussion:

Please let me know if this helps.
