Imaq

Hi all,

I am using PCI 1411 to exract analog data into images. The number of images that I am interested to acquire amounts to about 1200MB (about 3500 buffers).

I was previously using NI-Imaq which used to extract me the images with a few hiccups. I used NI-Vision Builder to extract these images. It would save some of the images with a dialog "Image not availabe". This would happen for around 40-45 images out of 3500 images acquired. With time it developed a problem before acquisation a dialog would appear "Can't lock on video source" although I can see the streaming data through a monitor. This problem does not occur for the first one or two acquisations and one should restart the machine a couple of times for it to acquire another one-two sets.

The RAM in my machine is about 2.54GB. It should be large enough to accomodate buffers.

I then tried NI-Imaq 3.1.3 it acquires the Images perfectly. However, after alloting a buffer of about 500 MB (about 1500 images), it shows up a dialog "The operating system denied request to allocate more memory". I use Windows XP as the operating system. However, the acquisations upto 1500 images is absolutely perfect (which makes me believe that the PCI 1411 card is absolutely perfect).

Can anyone please help me to overcome either the problem with NI-Imaq 2.6.1 or  in allocating more buffers in NI-IMAQ 3.1.3 ?

I just realised that the latest version of Imaq is 4.4..

I tried Imaq 4.4 but I am facing the same problems as Imaq 2.6.1

Firstly for smaller acquisitions(<=1500 images), it makes acquired images "image not available"while saving them.

However, I can see the images well in the browser of the Vision builder.

With large sets of images (3500 images)Vision Builder hangs just after the acqisition .i.e. when I press the close button of the acquisition..

Can anyone help me out of this problem?

Most of my problems seem to be arising from using older software. Presently I have installed Vision Acquisition 2010 and everything seems to be working fine.
