In LabVIEW 2010 Flatten/UnFlatten to String Documentation/Functionality Disagree

Why doen't the function Search turn up both versions of Flatten to String? If I Search for Flatten, shouldn't all functions that have the word Flatten show up?

This isn't typical. Did you install LV 7.1 more recently than 2010?

I can confirm what Dbaechtel is seeing.

I've never installed LV 7.1 on my PC.  LV2010 was recently installed.  OpenG toolkits have been recently installed after that.  The only Flatten and Unflatten functions that show up by way of the search dialog box on the palette is coming from 7.x Functions >  Advanced > Data Manipulation and the context help on them has that same ??? for a title has his screenshots show.

If I click on Detailed Help in the Context Help window, I get to the generic top level of LV Help.  I don't get the detailed help he shows for of that function.  I only get the detailed help with the correct information if I use the correct up-to-date function from Numeric >  Data Manipulation.

So this leads to 2 questions.

1.  What is the purpose of the 7.x version of this function, and why is the help not present?

2.  Why does only the 7.x version show up in a function palette search and not the correct up-to-date function?

I only have LV 2010. I did not install 7.1.

I did install OpenG Toolkits. It is suggested that somethings were changed because of that.

If I remember correctly, the 7.1 was created for those that wanted to use that instead of the new palette style in 8.x. Deleting the flatten and unflatten functions from the 7.1 palette will fix the problem. Probably just an issue with the search tool rejecting duplicates. Delete the whole 7.1 palette for that matter.
