Information on how to monitor VI's via the internet

I'm attempting to find some more information about how to set up Internet Toolkit such that we can monitor our VI's remotely via the web.

We've got some processes running which we need to monitor with LabView at the moment, so I cannot install the Internet Toolkit which is on the NI Developer Suite. Since I don't want to disturb LabView at this time, I'm interested in trying to find some information about how one would go about using Internet Toolkit to make our VI's viewable from the internet.

Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you've got a newer version of LabVIEW (6.0 or greater), you do not need the toolkit to view VIs in a browser. LabVIEW 6.1 added the ability to view and control VIs. Under the Tools menu, see if you have a Web Publishing Tool. If you do, click the Help button to get details on how to create the web page and your various options. LabVIEW comes with it's own web server that needs to run and to control a VI from a browser, the LabVIEW run-time engine needs to be installed on the client pc. For multiple clients to have control at the same time, you may also have to purchase some additional licenses.

If you have a much older version of LabVIEW, then I would recomend the book "Internet Applications in LabVIEW" by Jeffrey Travis. You can get the book from
Amazon or go to his website here.

We've found that these Labview tools are MUCH slower than a simple Remote
Desktop Connection.
