Input range of NI PCI

Solved!
Go to solution

Dear Sir

I read in user mannual of NI PCI 6281 that it has minimum input range -100 mv to 100 mv. So if i select this range then reslution will be 0.2/262144 = -122 dB. Now if i have to measure signal of -160 dB then how I can measure it?

I read somewhere that NI PCI has adjustable gain fromm 1 to 10000 and by adjusting that gain, I could measure -160 dB signal. Can you please guide me from where I can adjsut the gain? I check in DAQ Assistant but could not find.

Thank You.

Regards

The gain is automatically set when you specify the minimum and maximum. The range of your specific card is what is in the specifications. A different device could have a lower minimum range but to suggest that PCI in general has a lower range is just silly. Whatever you read 'somewhere' would have to refer to a different card. If you need better resolution, you need a different device.
