Installation of labview has caused infinite loop, what can be done now?

I have recently installed an out-of-the-box student version of LabView7 in an attempt to familiarize myself with the differences between LV 6 and LV 7. The program worked for about 1 hour before crashing and locking my system up. I eventually decided to try a hard reboot of my system. The OS (windows XP) is now experiencing an infinite loop on boot up. I need to know if there is anything that can be done with the exception of erasing my hard drive by re-installing XP.

i am not exactly sure where this loop is happening but try booting to SAFE mode.... keep hitting the F8 key during bootup. when you see a menu of available XP startup modes pick SAFE MODE. if you believe that LabVIEW is the culprit uninstall LV and try rebooting

good luck

Thank you for your response Dan. Yes, I had tried that as well as booting in the last known working configuration. The system would not enter XP no matter what I did. The boot up sequence automatically presented the screen for safe/normal/last config./etc. modes. The system would begin to load and then would flash a blue screen of death and return to the safe/normal/lst config./etc. mode screen.

I decided to go ahead and re-format my hard drive last night. It is a pain to have to reload everything and there are a few items which weren't backed up that were lost but, I have my system again.

Thanks for your input Dan. Have a good day.
