Installing LV 8 steps on LV 6.1?

After instaqlling LV8 on my machine yesterday, I discovered this AM that the FP VI's have been deleted from

...\LabVIEW 6.1\vi.lib\FieldPoint

DId anyone else run into this issue?

Has anyone else managed to get LV8 installed while maintaining their LV 6.1 applications that use FP?

I installed the evaluation version of 8.0 which came with FP 5.0 (although I don't remember whether it installed the FP VIs) and it definitely didn't remove my 7.0 VIs. I don't know about 6.1, as I usually don't need to open it, but I can check (although not at the moment). In any case, I haven't uninstalled it yet.

Did it do this only to 6.1?

At this point I am still not sure which way to go from here.

If I believe what I was told by support I have to abandon my customers that are trapped back in LV 6.1 OR buy a new PC because the two version can not get along.

I have talked to support about this and it appears I have to choose between LV 6.1 FP VI's and LV 8.

I will post more when I can say more.

Other ideas that do not involve abandoning the LV 6.1 FP VI's would be very welcome.

I checked it, and I would like to make a very important correction.

I do not have FP 5.0 installed. What came with the LV 8 installer was MAX 4. I downloaded FP 5.0 separately, but had not installed it yet. Since you say it will remove my 6.1 FP VIs, I will probably wait until I really get 8.0 (or 8.01, or 8.1....).

Bottom Line:

LV 6.1 VI's that use FieldPoint can not exist on the same machine with LV 8 because LV 8 use FP 5.

You will have to choose between LV 6.1 FP and LV 8.

Hopefully this will save others some trouble.
