Integrating GPS with myRIO

I am using the GPS Demo code available on NI website and I have connected as following:

Myrio          VK16E GPS module

5V                          5V

GND                     GND

UART RX              TX

UART TX              RX

I already checked, it connects with myRIO fine and the code runs, but I'm getting random values from NMEA Sentences and nothing is being saved in Longitude and Latitude.

Could it be that you dont have any GPS signals were you are. 

As you get a V in status, your GPS receiver do not have any GPS satellites in site.

Is there any way to check for sure if that's the problem and if so what should I do ?

Bring it outside, or at least near a window.  GPS is difficult/impossible indoors.
