Interfacing LV with MS FlightSim2000

If there is anyone out there who has any experience with extracting data
from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000 using LabVIEW, I would appreciate
your help. I would like to extract data directly from FS2000 using TCP,
OLE, DDE, DLLs or any other method anyone has ever been able to get
working. In fact any information of FS2000 would be appreciated.

Ed, I'm currently looking into this area too. I'm trying to extract data from FS 2000, the idea being to use dlls. Have you tried the Microsoft SDK available on their website?

If you've got anywhere with this, then I'd appreciate hearing from you if you think you may be able to help me. I need the attitude info in order to drive motors for a simulator platform.

You might try looking into FlightGear. www.flightgear.com.  It is an open source flight simulator. I am working on an interface with LabVIEW. Basically you send it a udp packet with info about the motion of the plane and it draws it for you. NI also has an interface for MATRIXx but not for LabVIEW. But essientially it is just sending a UDP packet, so I don't think it would be too hard to figure out.

Reviving an old thread...

I was just interested on whether any progress had been made on interfacing with Flight Gear? Or any other applications anyone may have tried out.

I am seriously interested in learning about anyone's experiences of sending data to a application and seeing aircraft move on screen.
