Intermittent TDMS error 6

LV 8.5 (XP Pro) sporadically generates the following error when defragmenting a TDMS file stored on the local HD:

Error message: Error 6 occurred at TDMS Defragment in <VI that contains the TDMS Defragment VI>

Possible reason(s):

LabVIEW:  Generic file I/O error.

Similar question was posted back in 2006 but wasn't resolved

Hi sukaba,

Could you please try to use the TDMS Defragment primitive node directly? If you still get the same error, could you please check whether the file is read only?

I am using the TDMS Defragment primitive.

The TDMS file is not read only and there is plenty of space on the local HD.

As I mentioned the error is intermittent.

Thank you for finding this problem. We are willing to look into it.

To make the problem more clear, is it possible and convenient for you to attach your VI on the forum?(A snapshot or a simplified one is also helpful). We will try to reproduce it on our machine and fix it.
