Is there anything in LabVIEW that works like Interrupts in microcontroller based programming? I know little bit about Event Programming but not sure how it works. Does any one knows of an example or is there anything else?

While it's obviously a much higher-level process, user events are conceptually similar to an interrupt.
There are good examples shipping with LV that show how to use them.
