Is it good practice to nest project files?

Hi,

I have an FPGA project file which I use to define FPGA memory blocks, I/O etc. We have a company project that pulls together various common VIs that people have written. I included the folder with my project into this top level project as an auto populating folder. It seems to work having a project inside a project but I am not sure if it is good practice.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

i don't see a problem with that as long as you are keeping track of this and don't put too many unecessary files in there or it will get cluttered

I always create a separate project for FPGA files.  Then I include that project inside the main project that calls the FPGA code.  A project inside a project.  Works well and is well organized.  Once I even had two separate FPGA projects inside the main project.  This works also.
