Did you mean:

Is it possible to extract the local port associated with a TCP connection/reference?

The question "Why you would need that [know the local port of an TCP connection]" is invalid. It is only the programmer who knows what he needs...

A typical need, where one want to know the number of local TCP port is logging, notification message to console etc.

I disagree.  It is a perfectly valid question in the context of trying to help solve a problem.  Oftentimes, knowing why something unusual is being tried leads to a better solution.

I guess I have a "why" question, too: "Why respond to a remark made over four years ago with a non-value added post?"
