Is there an explanation VISA sessions, resources, and classes?

Is there a very basic explanation of VISA sessions, resources, and classes anywhere? I'm just interested in a better understanding of using the VISA VI's in the Labview environment.

There is the NI-VISA User Manual (NI-VISAUsers.pdf) and VISA Help file. Both of these you should be able to launch from the Start>Programs>National Instruments>VISA. MAX has a help topic for NI-VISA/NI-VXI. From LabVIEW, you can go to Help>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf and select the LabVIEW Measurements Manual which has a small section on VISA. That's not a complete list but it is what you should already have installed on your system.
