Is there any easy way to extract .vis from .llb

We're having a few problems with calling .vi's called from Teststand calling other .vis in .llb files supplied by a third party. We tried a few different ideas for how to solve this by looking at other posts on here regarding the same thing with no luck so have decided to just extract all these .vis from the .llb.

This could prove to be an incredibly painful task if I have to do them 1 by 1 so was just wondering if anyone knew of any really quick ways to just grab the whole lot and extract them into a new directory.

Thanks in advance for any responses,
David Clark

Which version of LabVIEW are you running? There's an LLB Manager built into LabVIEW that lets you convert a library to a directory of VIs. It's under Tools->LLB Manager.

It depends a bit on your LabVIEW version.

Go to" tools...VI Library manager" (older LabVIEW)
Go to "tools...LLB manager" (LabVIEW 8.0+(?))

See how far you get. 😄

Thank you both for you replies - can't believe I've been using LabVIEW for god knows how long and didn't know about this feature - I guess I've just never had to use it before but still doesn't stop me feeling a bit stupid!Smiley Tongue - still it's better than feeling suicidal at the prospect of having to meticulously extract every vi individually!

Thanks again,

Don't feel too bad. With a language like LabVIEW there's so much stuff in it that most people never use parts of it. That's especially true with each new version that comes out. That's why we have Darren around to give us his nice little nuggets that often reveal things we never knew!

You're not wrong there - it is a huge beast of a product and I never fail to be amazed at the depth that the product has, and also the speed with which NI seem to devlop new features for it and improve it - the only pain is trying to keep pace of all the new features that appear in each update - I'm still stuck at 7.1 - have had a brief look at 8.0, but before I've had a chance to find all the new features in that they've now released 8.20 which has even more new stuff in it to learn.

Oh well - I'll have to catch up with it at some point - mainly doing Java at present.
