Is there any way of using some of Adobe Photoshop features in the front panel of LabVIEW?

I have a program in LabVIEW that can take and save picures, using a webcam, just by pressing a button in the front panel. However, I want to be able to convert these pictures to 8-bit grayscale, which is possible to do in Adobe Photoshop. I want to know if there is any VI that will allow me to communicate LabVIEW with Adobe Photoshop so that I can make the necessary changes to the pictures.

A conversion from color to grey levels is a basic operation that does not justify a call to Photoshop.
You just need to separate then average the RGB values. See the attached vi, ready to use.
